The Opportunity

Rally Point Resources has an exciting opportunity for an up-and-coming Land Agent looking to make the leap into project management. . The role of Crew Chief would be to lead a small team of Land Agents engaged in the acquisition of oil and gas leases on behalf of an exploration and production company, reporting directly to the Land Manger.

Duties

• Examine titles, deeds, wills and related documents to establish ownership
• Examine liens, judgments, leases, plat books, maps, contracts, and agreements to verify legal description, land ownership and restrictions
• Research and abstract oil and gas leasehold interest ownership
• Create summaries of recorded documents, such as leases, right of ways, and judgments affecting specific land ownership
• Construct and review runsheets, deed plots, and flowcharts for abstracts to be included in title opinions
• Communicate with Rally Point Resources management or client

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• General understanding of oil and gas laws
• Ability to use courthouse computer systems and/or physical records to examine property and tax assessment records for compilation of information about land ownership
• Skilled in interpreting complex legal documents to obtain and understand legal property descriptions
• Strong critical thinking skills
• Ability to plan and organize workload, adjusts to changing priorities, and work well under pressure with minimal supervision
• Ability to navigate state websites to research oil and gas well data
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat
• Ability to deed plot property boundaries utilizing metes and bounds
• Ability to utilize CRM programs (e.g. Asana, Salesforce, Quorum)
• Position may require travel to local or remote courthouses
• AAPL Membership preferred

Qualifications

• Basic Qualifications - Three to five years industry experience
• Preferred Qualifications - Five to Seven years industry experience
